The Wisconsin Dells Feast site has a long and rich history as a venue for God’s people gathering for the Feast of Tabernacles.  The Dells scenic beauty enhances our worship of our Creator and serves as setting to enjoy such outdoor activities such as golf, hiking, touring the local waterways in the famous “ducks” and many other refreshing activities set in nature. In addition to these outdoor activities the Dells is home to numerous indoor waterparks which are unparalleled among amusement parks anywhere in the world. For over 150 years Wisconsin Dells has been known as a great destination with tons of fun family attractions that bring over three million visitors to the Dells each year.  The Dells is home to themed lodging with many featuring huge indoor water parks, many popular restaurants, and tons of shopping. This year’s activity schedule will include a “Family Dinner and Dance” event which combines hosting the Senior Lunch buffet and Family and Teen Dance. There will be several general Bible studies in addition to the prepared sermons for the week.  Services will once again be held at the spacious Crystal Grand Music Theatre comfortably seating more than we expect to attend in the Dells, and is ideal for lingering conversations and fellowship. The Dells is also known for its wonderful music so bring your instrument if you would like to play in the orchestra.  Parking is conveniently located next to the facility. Housing is plentiful with a large variety of properties including ultra-modern themed resorts with elaborate indoor water parks and multi-family and single family condominiums. There are also homes and cottages available for rent on several of the nearby lakes and rivers or in the woods. Traditional style motels offer an exceptional value with several offering access to the larger indoor water parks. All establishments require a housing deposit and cancellation policies vary so ask about them when making reservations.  Most accommodations are within a few minutes’ drive of the Crystal Grand Music Theatre. The Crystal Grand Music Theatre does afford us the opportunity to have a fragrance free area located in the balcony section of the theatre. The Madison, Wisconsin airport is an hour away from the Dells, the Milwaukee airport is two hours away and Chicago O’Hare is three hours away. The weather at Wisconsin Dells can vary from beautiful autumn weather to crisper temperatures. Additional information can be found on the Web at http://feast.ucg.org/. Expected attendance is 600.

As information about the Feast Site is updated it will be posted here.

Hello Brethren

I hope that you have had a spiritually rewarding and fruitful summer. It’s hard to believe but the Feast is a little more than a month away!

One of the activities we are planning for this year’s Feast in Wisconsin Dells is a Family Dinner and Dance on Thursday evening, October 1. This activity will be at the same location as last year, the beautiful Glacier Canyon Lodge Conference Center. This dinner and dance will provide you with an evening of great fun, food, fellowship and relaxation with your spiritual family. Seniors, this activity will replace the seniors luncheon we have had in year’s past and include all of you in with our larger Feast family! Dress for the evening is dressy casual.

The buffet dinner menu will include sliced roast beef served with a mushroom beef demi, pasta primavera with steamed vegetables, green salad, garlic mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, coffee, iced tea, and milk. Dessert as well as snacks will be provided throughout the balance of the evening after dinner has concluded and will include such items as cheese and fruit platters with crackers, fresh baked cookies, brownies, potato chips, pretzels, and party mix. During most of the evening there will be a cash bar and unlimited free soda.

After dinner has concluded we will be providing a wide range of music for you by our own DJ, Dan Lausted. Dan will be playing music from many different eras for your enjoyment. So get out on that dance floor and dance to your heart’s content! Dan will do his best to ensure that the music volume will be low enough to allow for conversations at the tables throughout the room.

In additional to great music…

• We will have an art area for younger children – who doesn’t like art!?
• We will have games for those who want to mingle, but are afraid of the dance floor.
• We will have a slide show as we did last year showing your pictures from the feast.
• We are working on other fun things as well, and will update all as we make more plans!
• We will have the ability for anyone to request music via SMS or email! The
number will be provided and posted during the feast, and at the start of the dance.
• We will have party favors to help everyone loosen up and have fun! You’ll have to come to find out what they are!
It is sure to be a good time had by all! Don’t miss it. Spend the evening with your family and your extended church family for some good clean fun.

One admission price will get you all of this and you will be provided a wristband to allow you to come and go as you please.

Costs for the event are $22 for adults (ages 11-64), $17 for seniors (age 65+), and $14 for children (ages 2-10). There is no charge for children two and under who may eat from their parent’s plates. Should you desire to come to the dance only your admission is $10 per individual and $30 per family. These costs are significantly reduced from the actual costs in the hopes that everyone who wants to come will be able to. We welcome donations to help cover the costs and to help others attend.

We have a limit of 350 people for the buffet so reserve your seat now! Ticket requests and payment must be received no later than September 25. For a ticket order form please e-mail Mr. Dan Dowd at dandowd@charter.net

Singles!
We hope you’ll join us for one of these opportunities to meet, fellowship, and plan Feast activities with other Young Adults and Singles attending the Dells this year. There will be a meet and greet for young adults/singles at 10 am on Monday, September 28 at the Bella Goose Coffeehouse, 1009 Standrock Rd. Wisconsin Dells. We have also planned a lunch for the singles, 40 and over, on Tuesday, September 29 at 1:00 at Applebee's, 340 Highway 13 Wisconsin Dells. Additionally, if there is sufficient interest, we would like to organize a group zipline activity for Wednesday, September 30. You can preview cost and additional information at: http://verticalillusions.com/chimney-rock-zip. Please contact Matthew/Tricia Hill mattriciahill03@aol.com before August 28, if you are interested in zip-lining.

Myers Brothers "Good Works" Fund Raiser Concert has been changed from Monday night, September 28, to Saturday night, October 3 at 7:30 PM at the Crystal Grand. Come to the free benefit concert! You’ll not only have the opportunity to enjoy good Christian music, but also to raise funds to help our own brethren around the world through the Good Works and LifeNets Programs. Admission is free! Freewill donations will be encouraged with 100% going to the United Church of God’s Good Works and LifeNets Programs. The Myers will also be donating the proceeds from CD sales to the project as well. (The specific project will be announced at the Feast site.) Last Feast, brethren were able to contribute over $12,000.00 to provide a water bore hole to our brethren in Brazil! Take advantage of this opportunity to help the brethren and hear the Myers Brothers perform selections from their 5 CD’s. Plan to come and support our needy brethren around the world.
